- What does Cara do?
- Cara is software and services for healthcare growth, built together. We ship the AI platform, the agentic builder, and the embedded team that helps healthcare organizations actually put both into production. Customers include independent medical groups, MSOs and CINs, health systems, payers, pharma, and digital-health operators.
- Is Cara a platform or a consultancy?
- Cara is a software platform and a services team. We built the company to ship both. Most partnerships start with a six-to-twelve-week Enablement Sprint that puts a Cara engineer and PM on the ground with you. After the Sprint, customers typically keep our embedded team in place fractional or full-time, alongside the platform. The Sprint isn't a project that ends. It is how the relationship begins.
- Who are the people we get?
- Cara forward deployed engineers and project managers, healthcare-specific senior staff. Cara employees on Cara payroll. The same people stay on your account for the life of the engagement. Not staff augmentation. Not an offshore handoff.
- Fractional or full-time?
- Both. Most engagements start fractional, then scale to full-time as the work warrants. A common shape is one FDE plus one PM, embedded with your team, sized to the workload.
- Do your people work onsite or remote?
- Both. We colocate with customers during ramp and travel to you when the work requires it. After ramp, engagements run on a mixed onsite and embedded-remote cadence. Our anchor customers today are in Iowa and Texas.
- Who does Cara work with?
- Independent medical groups and specialty practices, MSOs and CINs, health systems, commercial and government payers, pharmaceutical manufacturers and CROs, and digital-health operators in longevity, weight loss, women's health, mental health, and chronic care. We are intentionally narrow within healthcare and we will tell you when a workflow is not a fit.
- How does Cara handle PHI and HIPAA?
- BAA included by default, never upsold. PHI stays inside your compliance envelope. Cara operates to SOC 2 Type II controls. Every workflow is built with row-level audit, scoped PHI access, and the security posture our health-system and pharma partners require.
- Do we own what Cara builds?
- Yes. The Enterprise engagement transfers source code, documentation, runbooks, and where relevant model weights at the end. There is no platform lock-in. Cara accelerates the build, but you can run the system without us. An open-ended retainer is available if you want one, never required.
- How long does an engagement take?
- An Enablement Sprint runs six to twelve weeks. Roughly two weeks of embedded observation, four weeks of build against real data, and a transfer phase that hands ownership to your team. Platform can go live in days. Cara Creator apps typically ship in minutes to weeks. Embedded engagements run months or years.
